Benefits of Hot Yoga:
Flexibility: Because Hot Yoga is practiced in a heated environment with plenty of humidity, the heat will allow you to safely reach new levels of personal flexibility in beginner’s postures, which is therapeutic for your body. You will notice the increased flexibility of knee joints, shoulder joints, neck, hips, ankles and wrists, and etc.
Strength: The Hot Yoga is low impact and uses muscles you didn’t know you had. In addition to the gradual muscle strength increase of the arms and legs, the prime focus is to have a healthy, flexible and strong spine, which is the key to longevity.
Common Pains: Hot Yoga heals or eases chronic pain that a lot of people live and deal with, such as joint pain, lower back pain etc that affect the knees, lower back, shoulders and wrists, neck, hips and the rest of the body.
Cardio: Your heart can work the same way doing yoga postures in a heated room as it does when running a mile, and you never even have to leave your mat, particularly in postures when you are balancing and contracting your muscles at the same time. A 90 minute Hot Yoga class can burn about 800 to 1,000 or more calories depending on your personal depth of practice.
Metabolism: The way you stretch the body, strengthen the muscles, and compress your internal organs and glands stimulates metabolism tremendously so you are burning calories, sugar and fat much faster in the class, and continuously doing so outside the class as well.
Balance: Balance is a function of strength and flexibility combined. By continuously working on the body's flexibility and muscle strength through the postures, your balance will improve greatly.
Detox: The heated room of about 40% humidity helps you sweat and detox! The postures themselves are detoxifying for your muscles, organs, and glands, and sweating furthers that. So enjoy every single drop of your sweat!
Stress release: Hot Yoga exercises are nick named 'strong dosages for anti-stress and anxiety.' It greatly lowers our daily stress accumulated through work and other life events. Through boosting the physical and mental energy, it makes you feel better and more confident in your own skin.
Breathing: Learning to breathe comfortably and deeply in between postures is the key during the 90 minute class. With the added element of the heat, 100% of your lung capacity gets exercised. The good news is that it won’t take long before you learn to breathe in a full, deep and controlled manner. Our two breathing exercises in addition to the 26 postures with detailed instructions will guide you through the entire 90 minute class.
Ability to focus ad concentrate: The routine postures help advance your practice through repetition. As you advance, you gain tremendous focus and concentration. This is exceptionally beneficial to people who can be easily distracted or people who find themselves having trouble getting things done efficiently and effectively. The ability of gained focus and concentration carries over to your daily life outside the yoga room.
